Searching the catalogue with subject headings

Use the drop-down menu to the right of the catalogue search box and select "subject" to use Library of Congress subject headings to search the catalogue. Here are a few examples of common subject headings for sexual diversity studies: Gay men, Lesbians, Bisexual men, Sexual orientation, etc...

Subject headings have evolved through history, so for historic materials, you might need to search for outdated terms. For example search for "transexuals" as well as "transgender."

Sexual diversity studies is interdisciplinary, so you might want to combine your term with subject headings specific to your area, like psychology, sociology, film, etc....
