Use PubMed   http://www.pubmed.gov

  • millions of articles on all aspects of medicine from reputable scholarly and a few popular journals
  • try their tutorials and quick tours
  • also included are many journals which offer free full text; to find these:
    • do your search
    • look for the filter sidebar on the left side of the results screen
    • look there for "free full text available" near the top of that column

OR

do a subject search in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) for free access to citations retrieved
