Open Access & Education Research

This guide is intended as a resource on Open Access for faculty, researchers, and students at the University of Toronto with a focus on open access in the field of education.

Open Access at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education

The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE) is committed to making its research and scholarship widely publicly available, by disseminating and making available its work to scholars worldwide, educators, policymakers, and the public.

In February 2012, OISE's Faculty Council passed a policy on open access that encourages faculty to make the results of their research readily and openly accessible, mobilizing knowledge in a strategic manner.

OISE's graduate students are also driven to make their work widely and publicly available. The OISE Graduate Student Association is sharing their research through a new open access journal Critical Intersections in Education.

Additionally, The Master of Teaching (MT) program recently launched, the Master of Teaching Research Journal (MTRJ), a peer-reviewed, open-access Canadian journal aimed at showcasing exemplary research conducted by members of the Master of Teaching program community at OISE.
