Finding Journal Articles

Use the Library's Research Guides to identify relevant article-databases

Search CBCA for journal articles and book chapters on:

  • métis and culture
  • métis and (northwest* or prairie*)

Search CPI.Q for journal articles and book chapters on:

  • métis and (people or person*) and histor*

In JSTOR create a "My Account" and save your chosen references and articles

Search Tips

  • use synonyms and variant endings of keywords 
  • use truncation or wildcard symbols (*, ?, etc.)
  • use DEscriptor or SUBJECT term
  • sort by DATE
  • use limit features, such as CONTENT TYPES (Scholarly or Peer-Reviewed)
  • check Works Cited or Bibliography for more books, book chapters and articles
