Free Health Sciences Resources

This guide supports health sciences alumni in finding free high-quality health sciences resources and literature.

Welcome!

This guide supports health sciences alumni entering healthcare professions in finding free high-quality health sciences resources and literature. The following resources are freely available and do not require paid subscriptions or affiliation with a specific institution. Some may require you to create a free account.

What happens after I graduate?

After you have graduated from the University of Toronto, you will no longer have access to UTL's paid subscriptions including certain databases you may have come to rely on during your program. However, there are still many reliable health sciences resources freely available to support your transition into practice.

Transitioning to practice

In addition to making use of the freely available resources listed in this guide, be sure to ask your new workplace if they provide employee access to other information resources and literature. For example, many hospitals have a library onsite and subscribe to evidence-based resources.

You may also wish to contact your local public library and ask if they subscribe to any scholarly articles or databases that you can access with a library card.
