Under the direction of The BRIDGE Technician, The BRIDGE Student Assistants ensure excellence in the provision of services for The BRIDGE. The BRIDGE Student Assistants are expected to maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Circulation Desk and Operations (50%)
The BRIDGE Student Assistants will ensure the smooth provision of BRIDGE services. This is a priority for the role.
Performing shelf reading, shifting and circulation duties (check-in, discharge, inter-campus loan).
Ensuring desktop terminals are properly set up (chairs, keyboard, monitors and mouse are in place).
Ensuring the boardroom is properly set up (chairs, tables, whiteboards are configured properly).
Depositing any lost items in the Lost & Found box.
Hanging up or taking down posters in the lab and around campus.
Reporting any technical or facilities issues to the BRIDGE Technician or the BRIDGE Coordinator as they arise.
Informing patrons of the BRIDGE policies.
Collecting and maintaining in-house statistics.
Maintaining the research database of other libraries & finance labs.
Market Wrap Videos (25%)
The BRIDGE Student Assistants will develop and deliver a daily market wrap-up with the use of recording and video-editing equipment.
Researching and analyzing daily news.
Creating a presentation.
Developing, delivering, recording, and editing a 5-10 minute speech with presentation.
Uploading and archiving videos.
Special Projects (25%)
The BRIDGE Student Assistants will help with the planning, organizing and execution of special projects by:
Assisting The BRIDGE team with the development and delivery of special projects.
Creating and distributing marketing and promotional materials.
Assisting with the set up and cleanup of events.
Collecting student feedback.
Reliable attendance and adherence to the posted schedule is an essential part of the position. The BRIDGE Student Assistants will be coached and disciplined if their performance, behaviour, or attendance is unsatisfactory. If improvement is insufficient or not sustained, employment may be terminated.
