Useful Databases for Ergonomics & Human Factors Research

You can search research articles, review articles, conference proceedings and more in the databases below. You can use more sophisticated search strategies including Boolean operators when searching these databases. Compendex, Engineering Research Database and IEEEXplore are engineering and technology specific databases. Scopus and Web of Science are multidisciplinary.

Search for Books

You may need to search for books using more general keyword searches and then browse within the book for your topic of interest. For example, if you are looking for books on ergonomics some words you might use to search include: 

  • ergonomics
  • anthropometry
  • human engineering
  • human factors
  • human-computer interaction

You can find books, encyclopedias and handbooks in the library catalogue (to find eBook versions, set filters for books "online") or in the technology eBook platform Knovel.
