How can science literacy help you?

Science has a profound impact on our society, but it's not always easy to understand how deeply it affects our everyday lives.

By developing your science literacy skills, you will be able to:

  • better understand and engage in social discussion on scientific conclusions being reported in the news
  • identify the scientific issues that underly national and local decision-making
  • evaluate the quality of scientific information and the methods behind it
  • develop the capacity to pose and evaluate arguments based on the evidence presented to you
