Open Access Week

Open Access Week, a global event held each October, is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.

The University of Toronto supports Open Access Week by hosting a number of events each year.

This year, Open Access Week is October 22-28, 2012

The Right to Research!

The Right to Research Coalition was founded by students to promote an open scholarly publishing system based on the belief that no student should be denied access to the articles they need because their institution cannot afford the often high cost of access.

Since its launch, the Coalition has grown to represent nearly 7 million students internationally and counts among its members the largest student organizations in both the United States and Canada.
