University of Toronto Science and Engineering Engagement

September 21st, 7-10 pm – Bloor Hot Docs Cinema Presentation of “Jurassic World” 

with paleontologist science discussion afterwards – come watch the highest grossing action/dino movie of the year with Dr. David Evans and Dr. Robert Reisz discussing the film and the state of paleontology today!

September 23rd, 7-10pm – Isabel Bader Theatre Panel Discussion

featuring researchers Ron Baecker, Kerry Bowman, Mike Carter, James Downar, and Carol Greenwood; Moderated by Toronto Star science reporter Kate Allen

September 24th, 7-10pm- Isabel Bader Theatre Panel Discussion 

featuring researchers Aziza Chaouni, Ravi Seethapathy, Brandon Sutherland, Ron Oberth and David Zingg; Moderated by Globe and Mail writer Ivan Semeniuk

September 26th, 12-3 p.m matinee presentation of “Contact” at Bloor Hot Docs Cinema 

with Dunlap Institute Astronomers Dr. Laura Newburgh and Elliot Meyer discussing the search for extraterrestrial intelligence  afterwards!

 

ACS On Campus

  • September 23, 12:45-6:30 pm and Thursday, September 24 from 12:45-5:00 pm

A free outreach program dedicated to helping students, post-docs, and faculty members advance in their careers. The program brings leaders in chemistry, publishing, research, science communication and career development to university campuses to present seminars and workshops - attend these events for networking and sessions on scholarly publishing, maximizing your research, and careers. The event is open to all students studying the sciences.
