Scope
- The Courts' judicial review power comes from the Constitution Act, 1867 . The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is also key in defining the limits of the mandates of public institutions.
- Important acts include the Judicial Review Procedure Act , RSO 1990, c.J1, the Statutory Powers Procedure Act , RSO 1990, c S.22, and, federally, the Federal Courts Act , RSC 1985, c F-7.
- Many regulatory bodies are governed by their own statutes.
- Much of administrative law is found in common law cases from provincial and federal courts.
