Welcome to the UTSC Library Finance & Trading Lab, a state of the art experiential learning centre for financial education and research at the University of Toronto Scarborough. The Lab provides a hands-on learning experience for students interested in finance and its real-world applications, while supporting the research needs of the UTSC faculty.
Our staff is available Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm to support students and faculty with financial research and analysis tools.

Must be enrolled at the University of Toronto Scarborough
Completion of the following UTSC course: MGFB10
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills; must take initiative; must demonstrate superior commitment to service excellence and ability to problem solve; must demonstrate reliability.
Must demonstrate an interest in financial markets.
Must demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Completion of or enrollment in the following UTSC courses: MGFC10, MGFC30
Proficiency in financial applications, such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, including certificates of completion of the Bloomberg Essentials Online Training/Bloomberg Market Concepts and FactSet Knowledge Base.
Experience using VBA.
Experience working in the field of finance and customer service.
Student lab assistants will work to achieve the mandate of the UTSC Library Finance & Trading Lab by participating in the following duties:
Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the lab
Developing expertise in and assisting students with the use of financial programs and software such as, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, Rotman Interactive Trader, Rotman Portfolio Manager, ThomsonOne (equity research) and research databases.
Enforcing the rules and policies of the lab.
Assisting with the planning, organizing and execution of special events, including workshops and speaker series.
Maintaining and updating accurate statistics.

Dillon is a fourth-year Management Co-op student specializing in Finance. He completed his recent co-op term at Beam Suntory as a Financial Analyst. He's also part of UTSC's Student Managed Fund as an equity research analyst of the consumer discretionary sector. In his spare time Dillon enjoys playing sports and spending time with friends.
Laisha is a third-year co-op Management student working on specializing in Finance. She has completed past work terms at CIBC as a Project Control Coordinator and Cancer Care Ontario as a Financial Analyst. In her spare time, Laisha enjoys traveling and spending time with friends.
Mounir El-Sayed is a third-year Management student specializing in Finance. He is involved in many initiatives around campus and is currently with the Association of Accountancy as Vice-President of Professional Development. Mounir is passionate about the technology industry as well as the automotive industry. He enjoys keeping up with the constantly innovating trends in these sectors. He also enjoys learning how to code. In his spare time, he enjoys casual hiking and biking.
Siddharth is a second-year student studying economics at UTSC. His current interests lie in the financial realms of venture capital and stock trading, however none with his personal capital just yet. In his spare time, he enjoys trying new food or a quick workout at Pan Am.
